Lilly MacVicar is a first-year business student from Charlottetown, PEI. She captured AUS gold in the 300m at the AUS Championships at the Université de Moncton on the weekend with a time of 39.71 seconds. That mark broke the school record and now ranks sixth fastest in AUS history. She was also a key piece of the Panthers' relay success. The rookie sprinter ran the fastest split of any athlete in the 4x400m, powering UPEI to a fourth-place finish, while the team broke the previous school record by more than 12 seconds. She also contributed to the 4x200m squad that placed fifth.
"Lilly proved once again that she thrives under pressure," said Damon MacDonald, UPEI Track and Field Panthers head coach. "Carrying herself with the composure of a seasoned veteran well beyond her years, she delivered a true championship performance in the 300m, surging from behind to capture gold and punching her ticket to the U SPORTS Championship."
