Former Panther Volleyball Player wins RSEQ Rookie of the Year
Trois-Rivieres Patriotes player, and native Islander Ellen Beck wins the title of Rookie of the Year in the RSEQ!
Congratulations to setter Ellen Beck, of the womens division 2 volleyball team, who won the title of Rookie of the Year in the Reseau du Sport Etudiant du Quebec (RSEQ)
A Native of Charlottetown PEI, and 2015 UPEI Panther Volleyball MVP, Ellen is a rookie who has had an immediate impact on the team. "She is a disciplined and engaged athlete. A physical player who likes to go to the net and surprise the opponent. Defensively, she provides a good stability on the block", says the coach of the team, Marie-Eve Girouard.
The student-athlete enrolled in the French Studies program for non-francophones had to change position during the season. She used to play power, and converted to the setter position after the coach shuffled her roster. She does an amazing job in her new role as the quarterback of the offence and is a big piece of the offensive line.
The announcement of the individual honors will precede the provincial championships that will take place on the18th and 19th of March in Trois-Rivieres. All the games will be webcast as well on Patriotes.tv.
Congratulations Ellie!
