The Memorial Sea-Hawks (9-7) turned in one of their better performances of the season in their 86-67 win over the UPEI Panthers (11-2), due to their explosive offence and great effort on defence.

The UPEI Panthers looked more like themselves Sunday afternoon.

The UPEI-Acadia rivalry is alive and well. The Axewomen (9-4) took Round 2 this time around, as Jayda Veinot went on a tear to open the fourth quarter, scoring eight straight points to turn a three-point deficit into a five-point lead. Acadia rode that lead to the end in a thrilling 73-67 win.

The Dalhousie Tigers faced the UPEI Panthers in their home opener at the Dalplex in Halifax on Friday, November 5th.

The UPEI Panthers are tough enough to play against with Jenna Mae Ellsworth and Reese Baxendale leading charge. After Sunday afternoon’s 71-57 win over the Memorial Sea-Hawks, that two-headed monster may have become a three-headed one.

UPEI Panthers fans had a lot to cheer for Saturday night.
