(Charlottetown, PE) The UPEI Panthers faced off against the Mt. Allison Mounties on Panther Senior night, with a playoff spot on the line for the Panthers. The Panthers controlled the first half firing 14 shots at the Mountie net, but were unable to beat keeper Logan McNeil and at half were tied 0-0. The Panthers wasted no time in the second half as rookie Cohen Reddick-Stevens blew by a Mountie defender after a great sideline run and blasted home a goal in the 47th minute. UPEI looked to have extended their lead just moments later as Kieran Moore found Sam Smiley on a great run, but Smiley was just offside. Smiley made his mark though in the 74th when he crossed the ball to a wide open Jeff Moore who volleyed home the Panthers second goal on his senior night. The game ended as a 2-0 victory for the Panthers with Brett Strba getting the win. The Panthers celebrated Harminder Singh, Cullen Mullaly, Mark Ashlee,Jeff Moore, Kieran Moore, Blake Kelly, Alex Khan, and
Kyle Dutton as graduating seniors. The Panthers will head to AUS Playoffs next weekend Nov 3-6
at UNB.
