Bio

Originally from Ontario, Darrell Glenn played for the Panthers from 1988 to 1994 and was a member of the 1988–89 AUS championship team. He earned his BA from UPEI in 1994 and his B. Ed from the University of Toronto in 2000. 

Coach Glenn returns for his 8th year with the Panthers. In the last 3 seasons Coach Glenn has led the program to the conference playoffs losing in the conference final 2 of his last 3 seasons.  During his time back on campus Glenn has coached the U13, U14, U15 and U16 PEI provincial teams & this summer Coach Glenn leads the U16 Provincial team to the Canada Games National Championships in St John's Newfoundland.  Coach Glenn was also awarded the PEI Basketball Coach of the year in 2019 for his contribution to minor basketball in PEI.     

Glenn has plenty of international experience as an assistant coach with Canadian national teams at multiple age levels. He won bronze medals at the U21 world championships in 2005 (Argentina) and the FISU World University Games in 2007 (Bangkok Thailand) and was on the staff for the FISU World University Student Games team that finished fifth in 2009 (Belgrade Serbia). Glenn also was an assistant coach with the U16 Canadian National team that competed in the FIBA America World qualifier in Honduras in 2013 where the team finished in 3rd place to qualify for the U17 World Championships the following year. 

Glenn has an extensive resume working with minor basketball programs in Ontario. Glenn has served as the head coach of the U15 Ontario provincial team in 2002 and 2003, leading the squad to back-to-back national championships. Glenn has worked with Canada Basketball as a manager of Youth and Development in 2015-2016 in the National Junior Academy Program and he has worked as a coach in the Canada Basketball High Performance training pods from 2014-2016.  Glenn currently works with Canada Basketball as an NCCP learning facilitator.
