Panthers drop final home game to Aigles Bleus 5-1

In the fifth and final game between the UPEI Panthers (12-13-1-3) and the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus (16-11-3-0), UPEI was finally denied by Moncton after winning the last four games against them, dropping their final home game of the regular season 5-1 at the MacLauchlan Arena on Friday, Feb. 9.

Despite a strong start with two goals within the first eight minutes, the UPEI Panthers men’s hockey team (10-12-1-2) was quickly stung by five goals within about 10 minutes from the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (13-12-1-0), who held on for a 6-3 win at the MacLauchlan Arena on Friday, Jan. 26.

A goal by Kaleb Pearson at 3:24 of overtime on a high shot gave the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers a comeback 5-4 win over the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus on Thursday evening in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in front of more than 550 spectators.
