Bio

Coach Lane, native of Saint John, NB graduated from UNBSJ in 2006 where he played basketball from 2002-06. After graduation from UNBSJ, Jonathan went on be an assistant coach with the team from 2007-09. Coach Lane moved to PEI in 2010 to continue his education, graduating from UPEI in 2012 with a Bachelors of Education degree. Upon graduation he joined the Athletics Department, assisting the Varsity Coordinator and overseeing the department's youth programming. Jonathan was hired as the Sales and Panther Academy Coordinator for UPEI's Athletics and Recreation department in January 2015. This will be Coach Lane's second stint with the men's basketball program, having spent two seasons as an assistant coach from 2015 to 2017. Jonathan went on to be the head coach for the Colonel Gray High School AAA women's basketball program from 2017 to 2020.
