Finally! Since opening training camp on Sept. 9, everyone on our team has been looking forward to tomorrow. Our preseason opener goes at 8:00pm this Friday vs. Mt. Allison, at the Holland College tournament. On Sunday at 10am, we will tangle with Sainte Foy, a team out of the Quebec CEGEP league. To be honest, we do not know a whole lot about either of these teams. We do know that Mt. A is expected to be strong in the ACAA this year, and that Sainte Foy is a perennial power in CEGEP. We are certainly more familiar with the Mt. A program, as we know several of their players. In fact, one of their top guys, 6'6 Bradley Fuller, played for me previously at Horton High School. It will be a good weekend for us to see how far our players have come, and to see our new additions in game situations. We plan on using lots of different combinations, in hopes of finding/establishing a bit of a regular rotation. We plan on dressing 14 for both of these tilts, although that may change depending on some medical information we are currently awaiting word on.
We are generally in pretty good shape heading into the weekend. It appears that our 6'7 rookie, Nathan Anderson, may be out due to a minor knee injury he sustained in practice last Saturday. It's not considered serious, but it has been stiff and sore, he will probably be a game time decision. One of our returning regulars, Jake Kendrick, is dealing with a bit of a back problem, and will also be a game time decision. Knock on wood… the rest of the guys appear to be pretty good.

Last but not least, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone! My wife is continuing a tradition she started upon our arrival here at UPEI. She is cooking Thanksgiving Dinner for our team this Sunday! Two turkeys, a ham, and all the fixins! Hopefully, we will have two wins to be thankful for, along with so many other great thing here in PANTHER LAND!
GO PANTHERS GO!
