Panthers cough up halftime lead, lose 3-2 to Mount Allison

SACKVILLE, NB—The Mount Allison Mounties had lots to celebrate on Senior day as they defeated the UPEI Panthers 3-2 for their fifth straight win in AUS women's soccer action.
It was the visiting Panthers who actually took a 2-0 lead in the game on a pair of first half goals. Rachel Green opened the scoring for the Panthers when she scored in the 36th minute. The Panthers struck again right away as Lauren Clark scored less than a minute later.
The Mounties started their climb back into the game when senior Kiana Gagnon scored from distance on an impressive shot that found the corner of the net in the 50th minute. Bailey Hatcher brought the home crowd to their feet 20 minutes later when she tied the score at 2-2 in the 71st minute.
Seven minutes later, senior Amanda Piltzmaker completed the comeback when she scored her 5th goal of the season to give the Mounties a 3-2 lead. Piltzmaker now sits in a tie for 2nd place amongst AUS goal leaders.
The Mounties current 5 game winning streak has them vaulted into 4th place in the AUS with 3 games remaining on the schedule as they now sit at 5-3-1 for 16 points. UPEI falls to 1-4-3 (6 Points) with the loss.
