Ellsworth named to USPORTS All-Rookie Team
USPORTS holds All-Canadian Awards Gala Wednesday night to recognize the top basketball players in the country.
The USPORTS 2016-17 All-Canadian Awards Gala was held Wednesday night in Victoria B.C. Panther rookie sensation Jenna Mae Ellsworth was recognized for her tremendous season by being named to the 2016-17 USPORTS All-Rookie Team. Ellsworth completed the season leading her team in scoring, averaging 14.1 points per game. She also finished tied for first in the conference in assists, averaging 3.3 per game. And second in AUS in steals with 2.8 per game. On Wednesday night, Ellsworth was runner up for rookie of the year honors.

Other award winners on Wednesday night included;
Danielle Boiago, a fifth-year guard from the McMaster Marauders, was named the 2017 U SPORTS Women's Basketball Player of the Year. Boiago's rate of 25.5 points per 40 minutes was the highest in the OUA this season, while her totals of 81 assists and 51 three-pointers ranked third in the conference. She completed her regular season career as McMaster's all-time leading scorer, with a total of 1,719 points that ranks third in OUA history. She also topped the record book with 250 steals, and finished second in assists (297) and third in rebounds (603).
