In a rare crosstown matchup, the UPEI Panthers defeated the Holland College Hurricanes 85-69.
It was an entertaining first half, as each team went back and forth, with the Panthers ultimately being up, 41-36 at the break. To begin the second half, the Panthers built themselves a comfortable lead in the third, outscoring the Hurricanes 25-10.
Leading the way for the Hurricanes was Breauna Johnson, who took 17 shots from the field connecting on ten of them. Johnson ended the night with 23 points and 36 minutes of playing time.
All starters for the Panthers were able to score into double digits Saturday night. This included a 28 point effort from 5th year stud Kiera Rigby scoring 28 points, including 9-18 from the field.
The win extended their exhibition winning streak to your four games. Next weekend will see the Panthers travel to Quebec City, for the Laval Invitational. The Invitational will be their final exhibition tournament of the pre-season. The Panthers will begin their regular season November 3rd on the road against Saint Mary's
